This online self-assessment tool is designed to test the rheumatology knowledge base of physicians. This module consists of 60 case-based questions with answer rationales, images and educational reference links.

The American College of Rheumatology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation Statement
The ACR designates this enduring material for a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activities.

AAPA Self-Assessment Statement
This Self-Assessment CME program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 20 AAPA Category 1 Self-Assessment CME credits by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Approval is valid until September 22, 2017. Physician Assistants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards.

Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • State the fundamental principles of inflammation, immunology, and genetics of rheumatic disease
  • Recognize clinical manifestation and pathophysiology of various forms of arthritis and related diseases
  • Evaluate patients with systemic symptoms and multisystem diseases, regional musculoskeletal disorders, and be able to correctly diagnose/select an optimal treatment strategy.

The information presented relates to basic principles of diagnosis and therapy, and is meant in no way to substitute for an individual patient assessment based upon the healthcare provider’s examination of the patient and consideration of laboratory data and other factors unique to the patient.
