The ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting brings a wonderfully diverse community together. Get engaged by creating and building relationships with your peers. Take advantage of networking events and social offerings designed to help you facilitate connections.
Networking with colleagues is one of the top reasons rheumatology professionals come to the ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting. As you wander through the convention center, don’t you wish you could meet up with like-minded colleagues, put together a group to discuss your next great idea, or meet with your long lost colleagues from fellowship? ACR now has a room (rheum) for you to do this. RheumConnect is the ACR’s way to foster networking opportunities that allow attendees to catch up with colleagues, form new connections and build meaningful interactions, and meet new mentors and expand your professional network.
Location: All RheumConnect activities will take place in room W179b
Meet the Masters: The Journey behind the Success (October 21 and 22)
Every year, the ACR recognizes leaders in rheumatology who have made significant contributions to the field, with the title of ACR Master. Have you ever wondered what makes a Master tick, what factors shaped his/her career, and what pivotal decisions led to success? In this new and innovative networking session, get up close and personal with ACR Masters to learn about their journey and how they honed skills to master the art of rheumatology. There will be no podium or slides, just a story of the Master’s journey and personal passions shared in an interactive, interview format.
October 21, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM in W179b
ACR Master: Joan Bathon, MD, Columbia University, New York, NY

Let’s Meet Up and Talk About… (October 21 - 24, check room for times)
Meet like-minded individuals among the 15,000 ACR18 attendees by participating in the RheumConnect Board. There are dedicated timeslots where you can sign up to meet attendees who have similar passions. To participate, head to the RheumConnect room (W179b) and follow these steps:
1. Grab a sticky note
2. Write down your topic
3. Place the sticky note on the time slot that works best for your schedule
4. Come back on your selected day/time and with any luck, someone with your shared interest will be there to meet you
You can also stop by the RheumConnect room throughout ACR18 to see if any topics of interest pop-up on the schedule. If you see any, just come back at the designated day/time and join the conversation.
