Own a Piece of History and Help to Ensure the Future of Rheumatology...
The ACR Research and Education Foundation is pleased to introduce the 2011 Rodnan Gout Print— Consolation in the Gout —in honor of the 75th ACR/ARHP Annual Scientific Meeting in Chicago.
Consolation in the Gout is the seventeenth print in the popular series of 17th and 18th century gout prints and makes for a great keepsake of the ACR/ARHP Annual Scientific Meeting. Rodnan Gout Prints are also ideal for decorating any office or practice and are perfect gifts to honor a colleague, employee or friend.
Proceeds from the sale of these prints support REF research, training and education programs.

Consolation in the Gout was selected by Robert J. Quinet, MD, FACP, FACR, a practicing rheumatologist of 32 years and the Department Chairman and Rheumatology Fellowship Program Director at the Ochsner Medical Clinic in New Orleans.
By purchasing a Rodnan Print at the REF booth during the 2010 ACR/ARHP Annual Scientific Meeting in Atlanta, Dr. Quinet was subsequently selected as the winner of a drawing that gave him the privilege of selecting this year’s print.
Upon selecting this print, Dr. Quinet remarked, “I have collected the prints from most of the ACR meetings I have attended and display them in examining rooms and hallways of our rheumatology unit and they often provoke great discussions with patients and physicians.Consolation in the Gout, directly points out the distraction which patients in severe pain experience, not allowing them to enjoy the ‘good things’ of life.”
About the Prints
In 1994, the estate of former ACR President Gerald P. Rodnan, MD, graciously gave the REF permission to reproduce a limited number of prints from his collection of antique gout artwork. Each year the REF releases a new print in honor of the ACR/ARHP Annual Scientific Meeting. The REF extends many thanks to the Rodnan family for allowing us to share his extensive collection with our supporters.
