The ACR Research and Education Foundation qualifies as a foundation distributee for all purposes, including distributions required from private foundations. Several foundations have chosen the REF as an awardee to which the foundation assets are distributed in accordance with the special rules on tax-free termination of private foundation status.
The REF welcomes partnerships with foundations whose mission supports institutions such as the REF’s. The Foundation offers an extensive awards and grants program with research, training, and education opportunities for medical students, fellows, clinicians, researchers, health professionals and academic institutions.
The REF is fortunate to be included as an awardee from many private foundations. The REF Legacy Society acknowledges these organizations that make the choice to partner with us to help support our awards and grants portfolio. The REF’s goal when partnering with private foundations is to make sure there will always be qualified, well trained rheumatologists and rheumatology health professionals that provide quality medical care and innovative treatments.
The Foundation is continually grateful for those foundations that chose to support our mission to improve patients’ lives by advancing the field of rheumatology. It is with gratitude we acknowledge the members of our Keystone Society. Support at this level provides an underlying base of continued support so the REF can continue to usher in tomorrow’s rheumatologist and rheumatology health professionals while sustaining today’s practitioners and researchers.
