Cover image: The figure on the cover (from Sundarrajan et al, page 2457) illustrates colocalization of the kinases MKK-4, MKK-7, and JNK in cultured fibroblast-like synoviocytes, using immunofluorescence microscopy. Each protein is stained with a labeled antibody of a different color. These kinases play an important role in regulating gene expression leading to joint destruction in rheumatoid arthritis. Colocalization is consistent with the formation of a signaling complex that is functionally active and can be targeted for therapy.
