Cover image: The figure on the cover (from Kusunoki et al, page  3164) demonstrates the occurrence of apoptosis in rheumatoid synovial  fibroblasts treated with celecoxib. The brown cells are apoptotic as shown by TUNEL staining. This finding suggests an action of celecoxib  that is not dependent on cyclooxygenase 2 inhibition and may be relevant to the activity of this drug in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
