Information for Patients & Public
Do you or someone you know have arthritis or another rheumatic
disease?
Are you trying to find a rheumatologist in your area? Do you want to know more about legislation that affects patient care and federal funding of rheumatology
research?
Are you interested in contributing to the support of rheumatology
research?
If so, you’ve come to the right place.
Here in the Patients & Public section of the ACR Web site,
you’ll find a wealth of information developed just for you and
your family. Use the links to the left to explore this section.
New information is added regularly, so check back often.
The ACR does not have a physician on staff and cannot answer
medical questions about specific treatments, diagnoses, or symptoms.
E-mails of this sort will not be answered. We instead recommend
that you seek consultation with a rheumatologist. A geographic
directory of members of the ACR is available on-line.
Patient Education
The ACR has developed patient information on a number of vital topics of interest to patients with rheumatic diseases.
New! Selected patient information is now available in Español.
Read about specific rheumatic diseases by reading these patient-oriented overviews of over 50 topics including diseases and conditions, medications, and information about health care providers who treat rheumatology patients, and additional topics of interest for patients with rheumatic diseases.
Assistance Programs
The ACR has compiled a list
of assistance programs for certain rheumatology-related drugs.
In addition, we have provided a collection
of links to additional information about programs through
other sources.
