Skill Training Workshop DVD Series

The Skill Training Workshop Series is designed for physicians or fellows-in-training who are seeking to enhance their knowledge and hands-on skills in ultrasound and/or DXA interpretation. Each DVD offers a comprehensive review and lecture on the basic foundations of each topic to bridge the understanding between knowledge and implementation.

Disc One

Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography – Basic is divided into upper and lower extremities. Each segment features a comprehensive lecture and review of the history and basis for ultrasound, and includes standard scan procedures for each body part. A hands-on demonstration follows each lecture component. At the end of the video, viewers should be able to recognize the indications for ultrasound in rheumatic diseases, the techniques for ultrasound and how to recognize normal and abnormal structures.

Disc Two

Osteoporosis – Focus on DXA Interpretation presentsthe indications, risk factors and application techniques for DXA interpretation, along with several sample charts to guide the user towards the accurate diagnosis. At the end of the video, viewers should be able to understand the basic principles of DXA interpretation, identify pitfalls of DXA interpretation and the clinical pearls associated with these unusual situations, and create a report based on the lumbar spine and hip bone densitometry results.
