The FDA Arthritis Advisory Committee meets periodically to discuss therapies, pharmaceuticals, and clinical trials, among other topics.
By law, anyone can participate in the rule-making process by presenting data, information or views -- orally or in writing -- on issues pending before the committee. The AAC meets 4-6 times per year to review new drug applications and applications for additional indications. Its recommendations are highly considered in the final FDA decision. Announcements of upcoming meetings are made with as little as 15 days' notice.
