To qualify as a Resident & Medical Student member, an applicant must:
- Be of high moral, ethical, and professional standing
- Satisfy one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a residency program and express an interest in rheumatology as a specialty or field of research
- Be a student enrolled in a graduate-level educational program in medicine or a related field
- Be sponsored by two voting members of the ACR familiar with the applicant's professional competence, ethics, and moral standing
