The ACR offers its members subscriptions to the premiere journals in the field of rheumatology - Arthritis & Rheumatism and Arthritis Care & Research, as well as The Rheumatologist, a monthly newsmagazine written for rheumatologists. Rheumatology Morning Wire keeps members up-to-date with breaking news related to rheumatology, and the printed and online directories provide member contact information.

Benefits include access to a nationwide market of qualified rheumatology candidates, a résumé alert feature that automatically delivers e-mail notices when potential candidates have posted a résumé - making it easier to find qualified candidates, and a job alert feature that instantly notifies candidates of your newly posted employment opportunities.

Advocacy

Through Advocates for Arthritis, the ACR offers its members advocacy training as well as opportunities to meet with members of Congress and their staffs to discuss current legislative issues affecting the rheumatology community. Additionally, Advocates for Arthritis offers networking opportunities for members to discuss issues affecting their practices and patients.

The ACR covers the travel costs of members who participate in the annual trip to Capitol Hill. The ACR encourages both returning and new advocates to apply for participation. To ensure the program reaches new advocates and new congressional offices, there is an application process and not all applicants are accepted.

Coding

The College has two certified coders on staff who are available to answer coding and billing questions for members and their staffs. The ACR staff is also available to members for face-to-face meeting. Templates for forms and letters are provided to members online at no charge.

ACR Awards of Distinction & Masters

Each year, the ACR recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of rheumatology through an awards program.

Foundation Awards & Grants

Through the Rheumatology Research Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the ACR ACR members are eligible to apply for a variety of funding. The Foundation is committed to advancing research and training to improve the health of people with rheumatic diseases. The Foundation is the largest private funding source of rheumatology research and training programs in the United States. In FY2013, the Foundation awarded $12.3 million in grants, the most in its 27-year history.

Networking

All ACR meetings allow time for its members to engage each other face-to-face. Working on committees allows members to get to know and work with colleagues from around the country.

List serves are automated e-mail discussion forums designed for interactive discussions with other ACR members. The list serves are designed to improve communication between and among the ACR and members, offer a forum for exchanging ideas, and allow members to benefit from the experience, knowledge, and wisdom of colleagues.
