Each year, the ACR recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of rheumatology through an awards program.

REF Awards & Grants

Through the Research and Education Foundation, ACR members are eligible to apply for a variety of funding. The REF is committed to funding rheumatology training and research programs that are vital to improved care of for the one in three American adults suffering from arthritis and rheumatic disease. On July 1, 2009, the REF awarded $11 million in awards and grants to almost 200 individuals and institutional grant recipients, making it the second largest funding source of rheumatology research and training programs in the U.S. The REF is the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the ACR.
