Through Advocates for Arthritis, the ACR is offers it members advocacy training as well as opportunities to meet with members of Congress and their staffs to discuss current legislative issues affecting the rheumatology community. Additionally, Advocates for Arthritis offers networking opportunities for members to discuss issues affecting their practices and patients.
The ACR covers the travel costs of members who participate in the annual trip to Capitol Hill. The ACR encourages both returning and new advocates to apply for participation. To ensure the program reaches new advocates and new congressional offices, there is an application process and not all applicants are accepted.
