REF Announces new Rheumatology Investigator Award
ACR Research and Education Foundation launched a new program designed to close an increasing funding gap and provide a complete portfolio of awards to assist the even the newest scientist make the transition from postdoc to independent researcher. The new Rheumatology Investigator Award will provide extraordinary funds for salary support, overhead expenses and research costs, thus securing a physician’s academic research career for the duration of the award.

The ACR and AMA Conducting Physician Practice Information survey
For the first time in nearly a decade, the American College of Rheumatology , the American Medical Association, and more than 70 other health care professional organizations, have worked together to coordinate a comprehensive multi-specialty survey of America’s physician practices. The survey will collect up-to-date characteristics of thousands of physician practices from virtually all specialties, and will be used in efforts to positively influence national decision makers to ensure accurate and fair representation for all physicians and patients.Read more.
Navigating Recertification with ACR Tools
The ACR has developed recertification tools to help rheumatologists maintain their certificates. CARE an online self assessment(2006 and 2007 available, 2008 in September) and AIM a practice improvement module (RA and Gout).
