Fellows-in-Training Travel Scholarship


 

 

 




The ACR Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Travel Scholarship is designed to provide funding to assist Fellows- In-Training at US and Canadian programs in rheumatology attend the 2008 Annual Meeting.

Registration

  • Opens Monday, July 7, 2008
  • Closes Friday, July 25, 2008

Selection

Confirmation of participation in the FIT Travel Scholarship will be sent via e-mail no later than Wednesday, August 8, 2008.

Due to the limited availability of funding, some applications may not be accepted for funding. Preference will be given to those applicants who are currently a first or second year adult or first, second or third year pediatric fellows in a training program approved by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants in a third year of an adult or fourth year of a pediatric fellowship will be given consideration after the registration deadline, space permitting on a first come first serve basis.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be first or second year adult or first, second or third year pediatric fellows in a training program approved by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Applicants in a third year of an adult or fourth year of a pediatric fellowship will be given consideration after the registration deadline, space permitting on a first come first serve basis.
  • Individuals with a faculty appointment will not be considered.
  • Applicants must be in an accredited fellowship position at the time of the Annual Meeting (October 24-29, 2008).

Travel Scholarship

  • Meeting registration fees for the Scientific Sessions
  • Registration to either the Review Course , Basic Research Conference or the Clinical Review Course
  • Complimentary registration to one Meet the Professor or Workshop session, on a limited first-come, first-serve basis
  • 5-nights hotel room and tax charges only
  • Roundtrip economy/coach airfare to San Francisco, CA from the fellow's home city
  • A stipend to cover ground transportation to and from the airport
  • A Fellows’ Lounge at the convention center
  • A reception/dinner
  • Rental car, abstract related fees, cellular phone bills, and personal items are not eligible for reimbursement
