Workstation Certification - requirement prior to starting the exam

  1. To start the system check go to https://wbt.nbme.org/ticket
  2. Enter Ticket Number: CEK7N
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your contact information and the testing room location
  4. Complete the check on each workstation including launching the sample exam when prompted.
  5. When all workstations receive passing results, certify the testing room.

*Please note: The default date of March 5th will display, this is not reflective of your exam. Your Fellows should take the exam on your scheduled date either March 5th or March 6th.

On Test Day
Chief Proctors and Assistant Proctors should arrive at the testing facility approximately one hour before the examination to allow sufficient time to prepare the Chief Proctor and examinee workstations before the examinees arrive.

Confirm that you have the following information:

  1. E-mail from ACR with Chief Proctor username and  password
  2. Examinee Instruction Sheets (one for each examinee) sent in an email from ACR

Items needed on test day:

  1. E-mail from ACR with Chief Proctor username and  password
  2. Examinee Instruction Sheets (one for each examinee)
  3. A chalkboard or flip chart for posting the Examinee Start-up Code
  4. Roster to be used for check-in of examinees

To Start the Exam Session:

  1. Login into the Chief Proctor Resource site http://wbt.nbme.org/proctor
  2. Enter the username and password you received via e-mail from ACR
  3. Select the ACR In Training Examination link in the “Available Exams” section
  4. Enter the Exam Session Information
    • Enter the telephone number at which you can be reached during the test session, and the “Test Room” name
  5. Click Start Monitoring. The exam monitor screen will appear with the Examinee Start-Up Code and Examinee URL
  6. Post the Examinee Start-Up Code and Examinee URL on a clearly visible chalkboard or flip chart or announce it to the group
    • Examinees are required to enter the Examinee Start-Up Code in order to log into the exam.
    • The Examinee Start-Up Code is valid for 15 minutes. When this 15-minute interval expires, a new Examinee Start-Up Code will appear on your screen.
    • Once and examinee is logged into the exam, he/she should not need another Examinee Start-Up Code unless an interruption occurs requiring a Restart. See page 19, "Approving a Restart” for additional information.
    • For instructions on how examinees log in and begin the exam, see page 16.

To Monitor the Exam:

  1. To approve the restart of an interrupted exam, provide the current Examinee Start-up Code to the examinee to restart the exam. Click Approve to process the restart request
  2. To admit an examinee who arrives up to 30 minutes after the test start time, provide the current Examinee Start-up Code, the click Approve
  3. To report an incident during the exam, click Report Incidents and create a report
  4. To edit a report, click Report Incidents and select Edit
  5. To end the exam session, first click End Exam, then submit the Test Administration Report, and as a final step Print the examinee roster
  6. Collect an Examinee Instruction Sheet from each examinee as they complete testing

Prepare Examinee Workstations:

  1. Boot up each workstation computer in the testing room to the Examinee URL. See page 11 of the Chief Proctor's Manual for the URL.
  2. Post the Examinee URL as noted above on a flip chart or chalkboard for examinees who will be arriving with personal laptops
