I have been a rheumatology nurse for the past 20 years. My practice has included coordinating clinical research trials and supporting the clinical practice of a large scleroderma program. I am continually growing in my profession through the knowledge gained by each clinical trial and the experiences gained with each patient interaction. The scope of nursing practice, and potential for meaningful nursing intervention, in the rheumatology patient population is immeasurable. Working as a rheumatology nurse has been my most fulfilling professional experience in more than 30 years of nursing practice.
