Update to Core Curriculum – March 2006
This Core Curriculum Outline
(or Word version) is a substantial and comprehensive revision of the previous ACR Core Curriculum Outline for Program Directors that is designed to reflect the importance of competency-based training and assessment in graduate medical education, as defined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and to emphasize the six general competencies.
These are:
Medical Knowledge
Patient Care
Practice-based Learning and Improvement Systems-based Practice
Interpersonal and Communications Skills Professionalism
The revised curriculum outline is organized by these competencies.
Suggested core curriculum outline - consistent with the requirements of the Residency Review Committee for training in rheumatology and serves as a guide for training program directors and fellows in meeting the requirements of the Residency Review Committee
Principles Governing Industry Support for Rheumatology Fellowship Training
The ACR has developed an official statement
about
appropriate industry relations with fellows and training programs. It was approved
by the Committee on Training and Workforce Issues and the ACR Board of Directors
in summer 2005, and was disseminated to program directors at that time.
