Congress Delays 21% Medicare Cuts Through November

Tonight, June 24, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3962 which provides a 2.2 percent update to Medicare physician payments effective June 1-November 30. This update replaces the 21 percent cut currently in place and will be applied retroactively to claims for services provided to Medicare patients on or after June 1.
This is the third time this year that Congress has had to step in to patch the cut to Medicare physician reimbursement. Please continue to reach out to your legislators and reiterate that a permanent repeal of the sustainable growth rate formula is absolutely essential to ensure Medicare patients’ access to care.
