Negotiations Continue on Final Health Care Package

January 11, 2010

Congressional leadership is in the process of reconciling the House health care package with the Senate’s version. Their goal is to submit a compromise package to the Congressional Budget Office for a final cost estimate by early next week.

It will likely take another week for the CBO to score the package. A final bill is expected to be on president’s desk by early February.

The Senate health care package, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), includes provisions to restore DXA payments to 70% of 2006 rates and a loan repayment program for pediatric sub-specialistse.
