Senate Votes to Delay Medicare Cuts
December 8, 2009
On Saturday, December 19, the Senate approved the FY 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill, which included a provision to delay the 21.2 percent scheduled cut in Medicare physician payments through February 28, 2010.
President Obama is expected to sign the bill into law.
This is a temporary fix to allow Congress additional time to establish a permanent solution to the SGR formula. The ACR will continue to advocate for a permanent solution and will keep the membership apprised of any developments.
