Senate Agrees to Advance Health Care Reform Package

Senate Democrats cleared a major hurdle after midnight Sunday, December 20 when all 60 Members of the Democratic Conference agreed to advance an $871 billion health care reform package.
This is the first of several procedural votes that are expected this week on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Additional procedural votes are scheduled for Tuesday, December 22 at 7:00am and Wednesday, December 23 at 1:00 pm. A vote on final passage is scheduled for Thursday, December 24 at 7:00 pm.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590) includes provisions to restore DXA payments to 70% of 2006 rates and includes a loan repayment program for pediatric sub-specialists.
