Senate Votes to Begin Health Care Debate After Thanksgiving Break

On Saturday, November 21 the Senate agreed to bring up the $848 billion health care reform bill for floor debate. The vote was 60-39 with all Democrats and two Independents voting in favor of the motion and all Republicans voting against. Senator George Voinovich (R-Ohio) did not vote.

The Senate will begin debate on the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” (H.R. 3590) after the Thanksgiving holiday.
