EHRLICH-JONES NAMED PRESIDENT OF ASSOCIATION OF RHEUMATOLOGY HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

ATLANTA – Linda Ehrlich-Jones, PhD, RN was inducted the 2010 president of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals during the ARHP Annual Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia, Pa.

Dr. Ehrlich-Jones is a clinical research scientist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where she has been on staff for five years.

Dr. Ehrlich-Jones began her professional career working with patients with arthritis when she first graduated from her baccalaureate program as a staff nurse on a surgical floor at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. In this role, she took care of patients having total hip and total knee replacements. After completing her master’s degree, Dr. Ehrlich-Jones became a rheumatology clinical nurse specialist at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and then at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

Today, her position at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago includes working on several government grants/contracts. She is a project manager for a grant from the National Institutes of Health/ National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases—led by Principal Investigator, Rowland Chang, MD, MPH—which is a randomized, controlled trial testing the effectiveness of a physical activity promotion program for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and knee osteoarthritis.

In addition, Dr. Ehrlich-Jones is a co-principal investigator with Allen Heinemann, PhD, for a grant from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research on enhancing quality of prosthetic and orthotic services with process and outcome information.

Finally, Dr. Ehrlich-Jones is a clinical research coordinator on two contracts with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the development and demonstration of a post acute care patient assessment instrument.

Dr. Ehrlich-Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rush University in Chicago, a Masters of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago, and Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
