BARRY BRESNIHAN NAMED MASTER OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF RHEUMATOLOGY

ATLANTA – Barry Bresnihan, MD, professor of medicine at the division of rheumatology at St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, was named a Master of the American College of Rheumatology at a session of the American College of Rheumatology Annual Scientific Meeting, on October 17 in Philadelphia, Pa.

The member designation of Master is conferred by the board of directors of the College on ACR members, age 65 or older, who have made outstanding contributions to the field of rheumatology through scholarly achievement and/or service to their patients, students and profession.

Dr. Barry Bresnihan completed his medical education at the University College of Dublin Medical School, and his rheumatology research fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, under the mentorship of Morris Ziff, MD, PhD. In addition, Dr. Bresnihan has published extensively, ranging from research papers to books, and he has lectured at conferences and universities all over the world.

The ACR is an organization of and for physicians, health professionals, and scientists that advances rheumatology through programs of education, research, advocacy and practice support that foster excellence in the care of people with or at risk for arthritis and rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
