The ACR is partnering with CMS, the AQA Alliance (formerly known as the Ambulatory care Quality Alliance), the National Quality Forum, the AMA Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement and other organizations to further the quality movement in rheumatology.
On September 20, 2007, the ACR convened the second Rheumatology Quality Stakeholders Summit including speakers and attendees from government, medical, insurance, quality and patient advocacy organizations, to 1) demonstrate the ACR’s leadership and desire to collaborate productively; 2) learn how other organizations are pursuing quality goals and the impact on rheumatology; and 3) determine how all groups could work together to prevent duplication of resources and move quality ahead in rheumatologic care. The meeting was considered by participants to be successful in terms of advancing a comprehensive dialogue among all rheumatology quality stakeholder groups.
